What if I am not certain of a butterfly identity and have a photo? Can someone ID it?

Yes, of course! Please upload your photo as an Unknown Species on your checklist (scroll to the bottom of the checklist page to find Unknown Species). A regional expert will look at and suggest an identification for your photo in the comments section. You should receive email notification, but if you don't, go to your records in 'My eButterfly' and view it again in the next week or so. You will be able to see the comments left by the vetter.  If you accept the expert's suggested identification, you will be responsible for changing the species name. We like users to change it themselves as we view it as your list, not ours. Feel free to ask questions in the comments section.
